1st Anniversary of Working Life

My blog has been abandoned for quite some time. I was just too busy because of everything else - work, training, facebook, getting sick/getting rid of wisdom tooth....

On 18 June I "celebrated" my 1st anniversary of working life. I put this up in my MSN personal message, and guess what, most of the people who nudge me with their comments were pretty sarcastic. But truth is my 1st year wasn't really that bad - in fact much much better compared to my expectation.

In the past 12 months:
1. I flew more than the total accummulated miles that I flew in the 22 years before I started working.
2. I guess I had a real spike of my cholesterol level. I had oysters and lobsters and whatever good (aka unhealthy) food more than I have ever had.
3. I think I spent less money on shopping compared to uni time. Anyway I'm starting to get bored of my wardrobe.
4. Generally... I had a good time =) (especially having nice colleagues that you genuinely wish to hang out with after working hours!)

Lazy... or Busy?

Ops, my laziness has struck again and I simply lost the motivation to write or upload anything.
I just don't understand why I'm so busy.
I can leave office at 5.15pm.
I got no husband or children to take care.
I got no second job, not even singing.
I dont need to do laundry or cook.

But I do go to gym twice a week.
I do spend one hour a day on TV.
I do spend an average of one hour a day chatting with friends (which I hope that it does help me to remain in touch with them).
I do spend an hour on dinner and chatting with my parents.
And of course one hour on the road travelling to work and back.
And occasionally one to two hours of cosy relaxing time at Garfield's place.

Weekends are always packed with gatherings with friends and family.
I'm still struggling to decide whether I should spend my weekends doing something "productive" (like singing) or spend them on "unproductive" activities like singing K with friends or playing mahjong with my aunties.
But frequent travelling makes it practically impossible for me to commit into singing.
At least from now till April, I don't see that I can stay in KL for 2 consecutive weekends.

Ok la, gotta get back to my spring cleaning.
My room is really messy now, since the last time I "cleaned up" was 7 months ago (before I started work), hahaha....

Lost and found

I have disappeared from here for quite a while. To tell the truth, I have been writing, but those posts... well, I kinda decided not to post them.

Right now I'm still considering how much "emotions" I would allow myself to display here. Recent lessons learnt taught me that I need to be extremely careful before I get used by others again. And certainly allowing others to peek too much into your head is not good, especially now that we're in the "real" world, dealing with many "real" selfish and materialistic people.

I am struggling to remain "pure" hearted and fighting to keep the bit of me who like to help people. But I do know that my helping hand is stretched very selectively now. Not to say that I'm not willing to help most people, but I'm extremely "selfish" to certain people now. I had to do so, before this people strip away my last bit of good will and faith in humanity.

I am just not as "selfless" as Harry Potter...

Bad. Worse. Worst.

I feel bad. I know many people would be in worse situations than I am. But the worst is yet to come.

Seriously feeling some pressure from work. I see a desperate need for me to absorb as much as I can, as fast as I can, if not I'll continue to be "no-help" to my boss. Knowing me, I never enjoy sitting in any position without contributing enough. By saying "enough" here, I mean to my standard of sufficiency, not somebody else's.

But I guess what's driving my nerves the most wasnt my job, but a few people. One of the most important thing that you need to learn when you step into the "real" world is - how FAKE and REALISTIC some bastards can be. These people will choose to extend their so-called friendship only to those that they feel will somehow bring them some benefit. (yeah I have already experienced that one year ago. and you know exactly that I'm talking about you.) They will be all nice and friendly and polite to those rich and/or influencial people. Meanwhile for the less rich and influencial person like me, they will not bother to pay you respect; they'll just reply your questions with "none of your business", "forgot" to include you in their mailing list, "forgot" to invite you when they go for lunch or movie, "forgot" to notice your existence. (to those who thinks that they're still a kind person, time to stop and think whether you're doing all these to someone.)

The second best part about these people is - they always think that they outsmart everybody else. They'll only pay you respect (notice you existence) when you nod to every single word that they say. When you start to pipe up with your own views which they don't agree, they will never ever stop and reconsider whether what they think is wrong, but immediately they'll think that you're simply dumb for not listening to the "smart" ones. (yeah, cant believe it, but I'm part of the dumb group.) Well, it did annoy me in the starting. But now come to think of it, I should just "accept" their ignorance and let them pay the price later.

22 Dec 2008:
Conclusion - one type of rice feeds hundreds type of people. All we can do is to increase the level of acceptance, over and over again...

Sick. Sien.

Suffering from food poisoning caused by some unknown reason. All I know is that my stomach started to feel uncomfortable after I took the choc milk this morning. And my bro just suffered from the same series of symptoms 2 days ago...

Anyway I know that there is a pile of "toxic waste" in my body and I just cant figure out how I can get it out. Would appreciate if you can share with me any pain-less ways to do that. (I know that the best way is to use my finger and make myself vomit, but very painful ler.)
